About the assistants
In 1957, Sam leaps into the body of Dr. Dale Conway, an American archaeologist on a dig in Egypt just as he and his partners on the expedition to the ancient city of Memphis, Dr. Ginny Will (Lisa Darr) and colleague Dr. El-Razul discover the tomb of the vizier Ptah-Hotep. Al tells him however that the discovery has to this day never been reported, and that both Conway and Will disappeared without a trace, presumed to have been victims of the rumored "Ptah Curse". Like all tombs, there is a curse supposedly placed on anyone who enters and Al would happily get out of there. Sam and Ginny try to race to save as much of the tomb as they can before a huge sandstorm engulfs them. Two deaths have already occurred;
When Ali, the doctor's assistant on the visit to the tomb, is found poisoned, with scorpions appearing all around him in one of the tents where the expeditionists set up camp, and then Gamal is then killed trying to fix the car after their boss on the expedition, Dr. Mustafa El-Razul returns from town in alerting their families, everyone, including Al, worry about the curse as Sam refuses to entertain the notion as they also have to worry about the elements, namely the upcoming sandstorm, which, in the original course of events, claimed the life, in all probability, of Ginny and Dale, as they we never heard from again after the expedition.
