Gilbert M. Shilton (also credited as Gilbert Shilton and Gil Shilton; born May 21, 1945) directed four episodes of Quantum Leap in Seasons 1 and 2 of the series.

Shilton also has worked on several episodes from other popular television series, such as Magnum, P.I., The A-Team, The Twilight Zone, Beverly Hills, 90210, Law & Order, Due South, La Femme Nikita, and Degrassi: The Next Generation.

In 1979, Gilbert began his freelance directing career shooting primetime network episodic television programs, pilots and miniseries. In 1985, he sold his first network writing assignment. Since then Shilton has logged close to 300 hours directing film and television.
