Guy Harry Stockwell (November 16, 1934 – February 6, 2002) appears as crooked boxing promoter/loan shark Jake Edwards in the Season 1 episode of Quantum Leap titled "The Right Hand of God". A venerable lead and character actor who got his start in Hollywood as a child actor with his brother QL co-star Dean Stockwell, Guy appeared in nearly 30 movies and 250 television series episodes.

Stockwell was born in Hollywood, the son of Elizabeth Margaret Veronica and Harry Bayless Stockwell, better known in Hollywood as Harry Stockwell, an actor and singer.[1] He's the big brother Dean Stockwell, who plays the role of Al Calavicci.

Guy began his acting career on the stage, working in the Broadway productions, Innocent Voyage and Chicken Every Sunday. That affinity for the stage would later inspire him to become a co-founder of the Los Angeles Art Theater. He then went on to hold the recurring role of Chris Parker from 1961 to 1962 in twenty-six episodes of the ABC series, Adventures in Paradise, starring Gardner McKay as the skipper of a sailing vessel set in the South Pacific.

Stockwell was also cast in episodes of The Roaring 20s, Quincy, M.E., Simon & Simon, Knight Rider, Magnum, P.I., Murder, She Wrote, Columbo, Quantum Leap, Bonanza, Tombstone Territory, Combat! The Richard Boone Show, Gunsmoke, and Return to Peyton Place, He had important roles in several major motion pictures including The War Lord, The Plainsman, Beau Geste, Tobruk, The Monitors, It's Alive and Santa Sangre.

Personal life[]

Guy suffered from diabetes in later years and died of its complications. He was married and divorced three times and was survived by his three children Kerry, Doug, and Victoria, his brother Dean, his nephew and niece, Austin and Sophia.
