Jenny Gago (born September 11, 1953) is an actress who played the part of Florida Assistant District Attorney Margerita Lorrea Tearsa, who defends convicted murderer and death row inmate Jesus Ortega, whom Dr. Samuel Beckett leaps into to try to save his life and that of fellow inmate Raul Casta, who was convicted with him in the death of a Catholic parish priest in 1971 in the Season Three episode of Quantum Leap titled "Last Dance Before An Execution".

Gago has appeared in movies and television for 25 years; she has appeared in countless of TV shows including recurring roles as Captain Santina on MacGyver, Detective Beatrice Zapeda in Alien Nation, Anaya on The Agency and Grandma on Freddie. She has also made guest appearances on such shows as Falcon Crest, Remington Steele, Chicago Hope, The Pretender, Ally McBeal, Crossing Jordan, Lost and The Closer.
Gago has also had recurring roles on General Hospital, Knots Landing, The Agency, Southland, and Freddie (with series star Freddie Prinze Jr.). She has also appeared in the show Alien Nation, as well as its films playing the role of Detective Beatrice Zapeda. Gago has been honored as a positive role model by the National Council of La Raza, the Image Awards, the Association for the Advancement of Mexican-Americans, the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas and won a Golden Eagle Award for Old Gringo in 1989.[1] Gago most recently played the role of Detective Josie Ochoa[1][2] on the third season of TNT's Southland.
Asides her work in TV shows, Gago has also appeared on films like Innerspace, The Tie That Binds, and Nurse Betty. However, she is perhaps more remembered for her role on the film My Family with Esai Morales.
Personal life[]
Gago was born in Peru. She earned a BA Degree in Theatre Arts from UCLA, and attended th Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute on a scholarship.[1] She has a teenaged son, Sean.[1]
