Katie is the youngest child in the Beckett family. She grew up in Elk Ridge, Indiana, on the Beckett dairy farm. She married an alcoholic when she was 17 years old. She ended up getting beaten by her alcoholic husband.

Sam tried to prevent Katie from marrying the alcoholic by talking to her about it during the leap, The Leap Home, as a 16 year old. But he failed to change his sister's fate.
