About Kyle[]

n 1985, Dr. Samuel Beckett leaps into the body of TV soap opera star Kyle Hart just as they are filming a scene. Kyle's the star and for the past three years, he has been playing the part of Dr. Craig Conner on the aptly titled show "Moments to Live", the most popular soap in America. As part of a contest he has lunch with the winner, Norma Jean Pilcher (Kathleen Wilhoite), who seems to have difficulty differentiating between the real world and the fantasy world in the soap opera, and has delusions of he having her baby, unbeknownst to her husband Hank (Pruitt Taylor Vince) who thinks she is simply obsessed with Kyle as a fan.

Norma tries to make Sam dance

Being held against his will by a disturbed Norma Jean Pilcher (Kathleen Wilhoite) Sam is forced to dance with her.

In no time, he's forced at gunpoint into Norma Jean's van - with her husband Hank at wheel - heading to Millie's house, someone she describes as her mother. When he hears the reason why she's kidnapped him, he knows he has to get out of there. Al tells him however that the reports that he and Ziggy have found indicate he'll be found with a shotgun blast to the head.

Somehow, Al, as Kyle, is able to get Norma to see reality when her husband, who was thinking that his wife wanted to hold Kyle hostage for ransom money, passes out while holding Sam hostage with a shotgun. When Sam, pretending to be Kyle, said that he'd seen the same condition that Hank is suffering from, a ruptured ventricle, as Norma says "maybe we should call for an ambulance-" as Sam reminds of her of an episode of the show in which Dr. Conner performed on a woman as she abruptly says "You can't do that!" as he gets her to admit that Sam, or Kyle, is not a doctor.

Sam is able to revive Hank, who still wants to hold him hostage, as Sam convinces him that wife Norma has serious psychological problems, as they get her to put down the shotgun that she picked up while Sam was bringing Hank back to.

In the end, when the police and paramedics arrive, so does Kyle's agent Ben )Brian George, who suggests that they should lobby the producers of the soap to incorporate the story of his ordeal on the series!
