Sam also becomes close to [[Kiki Wilson]] ([[Jennifer Anniston]]), whose brother is MIA, and who also volunteers at the hospital. August 10, 1968: Sam leaps into Marine Corps Captain Ronald "Ron" Miller (leapee played by Michael Carpenter), who is in a Veterans Hospital having lost both of his legs in combat in Vietnam. His wife had met him in Tokyo when he was first evacuated from the war zone, and it's not apparent why Sam is there. Al thinks it's to reconcile with his wife since history records that has several children.
